We have been going to Disney as a family since 2006, just before Riley turned 1 and Jacqui has made it a tradition to get annual t-shirts for the entire family!!!!
On our first trip we were pretty traditional. All wearing the same light blue Classic Mickey T. They were great.

In 2007, we added Minnie to the mix with a vintage Mickey/Minnie number. And this year we remembered (sort of) to sit down for a family picture while we all had them on - on a Magic Kingdom Day.

In 2008 we thought we would commemorate our stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge by going with Lion King themed T's.

The dads would be adult Simba - Jay's being slightly more fierce than Kris.

The moms would be loving wives and wear a Simba/Nala combo shirt showing our adoration.

The boys would wear a young Simba proudlly.

Lauren and Riley were wearing Nala, of course, but in two equally as beautiful poses. Lauren's being slightly more mature and proud.

Emily had the sweetest onsie with a very young Simba and Nala trotting across.

And Grandma and Papa were a Pumba/Timon team with their fitting shirts.

Okay, so if you thought the 2008 shirts were cool. The Chappell family certainly topped it with the 2010 Finding Nemo themed personalized shirts. I think they had too much fun picking these shirts out. There were just so many characters that fit the bill. Hilarious. I will have to steel from Jacqui's blog for their reasoning behind their choices. Love It!!

Jay is Bruce. Bruce is, as he so aptly described it, "all smiles until something triggers a frenzy." Totally Jay.

Jacqui is Marlin. As quoted by Jacqui "I know I'm an over-protective worrier, but really....it was a slightly insulting chorus of agreement that I should be this neurotic fish!"

Lauren is Nemo. Because that scene where Marlin is screaming for Nemo to come back and Nemo is determinedly swimming away anyway is oh so familiar.... Plus, she is the star of the show!!!

Jon Owen is Gurgle. Gurgle is the hyper-clean, germaphobic fish that lives in the tank. Which couldn't be any more Jon Owen.

Hudson is Bubbles. When the treasure chest in the tank gives off Bubbles, he says, "Bubbles!" then quickly slams the lid of the chest shut and says, "My Bubbles!" This couldn't be a more perfect Hudson, because everything is MINE these days.

Papa is Gil. When we read that Gil's only desire in life is to escape the tank, we thought of Papa always wanting to escape to the golf course....

Grandma is Dori. The well-intentioned but sometimes confused fish got a universal vote for Grandma!

Kris is Crush. Laid back, go with the flow Uncle Kris seemed most Crush-like. Although I've never heard him say "Dude!".....

Keri is Peach. We actually had a hard time coming up with a good Aunt Keri match, but Peach, with her "find a happy place" mantra, seemed the most like our beloved Aunt Keri.

Riley is Sheldon. Sheldon is little and adorable and H20 intolerant, which reminded us all of Riley and her spontaneous vomiting battle.

Emily is Pearl. We loved that Sheldon and Pearl are best buds, since the girls are so tight, and when we read that Pearl has one tentacle that is shorter than the others but completely unnoticeable, we knew that this had to be Emily. (with reference to her slightly wonky foot).

There you have them. The "Griswald" family trip T-shirts. Love them!!! Stay tuned for more Disney 2010 Blog Posts!!!!
