Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 - Happy 5Th Birthday Riley!!

Who wouldn't want to spend their 5th Birthday at Disney World. We were very fortunate to have Riley do so. And what a great day we had planned. All four grandparents joined us on this day as we were headed for the Magic Kingdom!!!
Upon arrival we always head straight for Fantasy world where you will find It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, Snow Whites Scary Adventure, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and so on , and so on. After taking in these rides the gang discluding Emily and I went off for a tour around the track at Tomorrowland Speedway.

Emily and I enjoyed some time romping around Pooh's Playful spot, while Pooh and Tigger were seen near by. We just waved, dispite Emily's desire to give them a hug - there was a huge line up.

After that we had to all take a ride on the Mad Hatters Tea Cups. And who happened to be there to greet us - The White Rabbit himself!! I think Emily might be warming up to these characters.

And look who we found on stroller duty :)

We met up with everyone again at Storytime with Belle. There was a special treat today as both Lauren and Jon Owen were chosen to be part of the act. Jon Owen as a somewhat hesitant Gaston and Lauren as Cogsworth. So funny.

What timing we had to meet up and boogy down with Mickey's Jammin' Parade on the way to Frontierland. Those are some sweet moves Finnigan-Chappells!!

It Frontierland we were headed for Riley's first major roller coaster. Big Thunder Mountain. It was Hudson's first major roller coaster too. They were quite excited as the train pulled into the station and we crawled aboard the runaway train. Pretty cool stuff.

By this point Riley had her mind set on one destination and one destination only - PIXIE HALLOW. So off they went to find Tinkerbell. Daddy so kindly waited with her in line for 45 minutes, purchasing a Tinkerbell doll and having her name stitched on her hat in the process. Such a sweet daddy. And Pixie Hallow did no disappoint. She said it was well worth the wait. She met Rosetta, Tink and Silvermist!!!

We were able to have a little rest in Mickey's Toon Town fair while waiting for Riley, and Emily was able to pick out her very own Mickey stuffie, which would be by her side for much of the remainding trip!!

Then we set off (by foot may I add as our resort was so close) back to the hotel room to get ready for Riley's birthday celebration at 'Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner' at the 1900 Park Fair restaurant at the Grand Floridian. The Grand Floridian is the beautiful Victorian-style resort just a short monorail ride away from the Contemporary.

And our little Princess (thanks to Grandma Mary bringing the dresses) were all dolled up and ready to enjoy the evening with Cinderella, Prince Charming, her wicked stepmother Lady Tremain and her stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella and of course all of the Chappells and Papa and Gramma Finnigan too.
The birthday girl was greeted at the door with a bouquet of flowers and a Birthday Button to honour her special day. We were gathered for a beautiful family photo before being escorted to our tables (we did take up 2).

We got settled at our tables and the kids just had time to get excited about their light-up tinkebell drinks and have a few bites of their food when the hosts of the party made their first appearance.

Cinderella and Prince Charming were the first to enter the dining room and perform their first dance before making the rounds to the tables.

And then the hilarious Mdm Tremain made her disgusted presence. She hilariously did not know why would want to be there and stayed so well in character with her snooty look and nasty remarks. Kris and Papa Dave had much fun with this dispicable woman.
Riley on the other hand did not quite know what to make of her.

Drizella and Anastasia were the next to entertain us. H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S. These were some seriously funny girls.

Anastasia even led the group to a sing and dance group number - sooooo funny. Riley sure took care of her little sister during that one.

Before the end of the night, Prince Charming made a return to dance with both of the girls.

And we would sing 'Happy Birthday' to Riley as she blew out Tinkgerbell's light from her Mickey Cupcake. SO cute.

This certainly will be a birthday celebration to remember.
