Day 2 - The Magic Kingdom

Now, to Riley, The Magic Kingdom is what it means to go to Disney World. (Though when asked by anyone what she is going to do in Disney World, she always responds "go see my cousins" - so cute). But the Magic Kingdom, to a then 3 year old, is the place to be. That is where the princesses live, and where Minnie and Mickey live and where you can ride 'It's a Small World' 5 times.
We set off extra early today in time to be greeted at the park by all of the characters. If you get there for the Park opening, one of the Walt Disney World Railroad Trains rides up carrying all of the classic Disney Characters (why I don't have pictures of this I don't know). They welcome everyone to the park, do a little song and dance and then open the gates. It really was worth getting their early for. Riley definitely loved it.

We walked straight back to Fantasyland to hit some rides. We split up with the Chappell kids for a bit so they could all get in the rides they wanted. Riley was headed straight for Dumbo the Flying Elephant - a preschooler favorite. Then it was on to Ariel's Grotto. It was Riley's first visit to the grotto to see Ariel, so it was all very exciting. Emily was very scared again (of Ariel?!?!?!?), but she did love playing around in the grotto.

Then it was a quick stop at 'It's a Small World' with the whole family before lunch.
My girls love this ride. I think the photo of Riley and Lauren is classic - both with their "zoned out(or in), completely immersed by their surroundings" faces. Riley and Emily could have gone on this ride over and over all day long. We would see this ride again at least twice more on the this trip.

We had a Character Meal today at the Crystal Palace. We try to do a few character meals on each trip, and have done different ones each time. The Crystal Palace lunch was hosted by Winnie the Pooh and friends. We saw Tigger, Piglet, Eore and Pooh. Emily was again TERRIFIED. Though Hudson, started warming up to the characters. Riley was loving it, but especially loving the time she could spend with her cousins.

Since we had arrived at the park so early that day, we decided to go back to the hotel early so Emily could have a nap and we could relax. But not before catching the Dreams Come True Parade on the way out.

To be honest with you, I can't remember at which point in the day we went to Toon Town Fair. Whether it was when we first got to the park, or if it was after lunch. But the kids were excited for a ride on the Barnstormer. For Hudson and Riley it was the first roller coaster that either of them have ever been on, so it was very exciting. The were so cute in line as well, holding hands and waiting patiently with such anticipation (though the line wasn't really that long). They both LOVED it and wanted to go on again, but we would come back to it again another day.
