Today we went to Hollywood Studios. The Chappell Family decided to stay back and explore the hotel on the this day, but we met up with Grandma and Papa at the park. There are few, but great preschooler attractions at Hollywood Studios. The Amination Courtyard is the Preschooler hotspot with 2 of the girls favorite shows - The Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage. The Voyage is a combination ride/live show. It was really good, but I touch scary. I'm glad the girls had their earplugs in, it made it a little less intense.
Playhouse Disney is their favorite T.V. channel, so they were loving the interactive show feature all the pals from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My friends Tigger and Pooh, Handy Manny and The Little Einstiens.
We went to the Sci-Fi Dine In theatre for lunch. A cool restaurant where you sit in cars to eat. It is just like a drive-in theatre. Riley loved the cars!!! But she didn't really love the movies they were playing (not very age appropriate) old 1950s classic like godzilla etc. But it was still great.
After having a play at The Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, which is essentially a large playground where all the surrounding are huge, making you feel as small as an ant, we went back to the Hotel for an afternoon nap and a swim. Every day, they had activities at the hotel for the kids. While we were gone, Lauren enjoyed a pottery class, they went on a guided Safari walk around the resort, and stopped in for cookie decorating. While Emily napped, Riley went down to do the daily craft - decorating a memory photo album.
After Emily awoke, we joined the Chappell's down at the pool. They had a beautiful zero entry pool with the perfect size waterslide for the kids.

They also had a fantastic play area with views of the animals in the Savana from the top play tower. I just loved the souroundings and feel of this hotel.
Emily really enjoyed hanging out at the hotel. She was so happy to just roam around. She loved the time we were able to just hand around the hotel room and visit with our family. She often found all of the rides and characters a bit intimidating and was often a bit nervous. So it was so nice to see her really enjoying the hotel.
That evening we went back to Hollywood Studios to take in the Osborne Festival of Lights. I can't really explain the atmosphere here. The lights were donated by the Osborne Family (not Ozzy)after neighbourhood complaints of their more than excessive display. There were lights on every last inch of every surface at every turn.
It really was amazing. And the cool thing was that at timed intervals, the lights "danced" to Christmas music, and apparently so did the Chappell/Finnigans.
Very Fun Night.
A final stop before heading home - Toy Story Mania. We had grabbed fast passes when we were their earlier, they are hard to come by. Then we used the rider switch passes so we could all ride. It was fun, but really fast and somewhat complicated. The older kids loved it. Bad idea to take Emily on this ride - she was freaking out!! But now I know, Live and learn. Looks like a harmless ride, but the seat you are in spins and moves quickly while you are supposed to be shooting things - which I obviously couldn't with Emily climbing and clinging - all while wearing 3-D glasses (ya right). Definitely a fun ride though, for the bigger kids.

Jon Owen, Hudson and Riley also had the opportunity to meet Buzz and Woody here. A definitely highlight of the day for them. Hudson was so adorable with the characters. For some reason he always lifted his shirt to reveal his tummy while approaching them, hilarious. They had a great display area in line where the kids could play amoungst the various characters and also strap themselves to a firework, just like Woody and Buzz did in the movie - really cute.
